• Formerly in the collection of Sigisbert Chretien‘Gijs’Bosch Reitz (1860-1938).He was a curator of the Far Eastern Art Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art between 1915 and 1927.
He also managed a collection of Chinese porcelain at the Louvre,Paris

An imperial blue and white box and cover of rectangular form,the pierced cover painted with the bajixiang (the eight Buddhist emblems) each supported by a lotus bloom and surrounding the repeated wheel of law,joined by scrolling foliage within a twelve lobed panel reserved on a blue wash diaper ground with lingzhi fungus at each corner,the sides of the cover and base with confronting pairs of five clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amongst clouds and flames,the rims with bands of stylised scrolling foliage,all on four bracket feet.
