The lantern is potted with upright hexagonal form, with a pierced bevelled section, the slightly bombé sides centred with lobed quatrefoil panels delicately painted in pastels of famille-rose enamels, six sides with figural scenes of ladies and immortals, against a reticulated ground of alternating lattice, all within a checkered border of crosshatched and floral panels, the shoulder decorated with blue key-fret and the stand rims enamelled in pastels of gold, the interior left white.
