The washer is potted in shallow square form with faceted corners. It is covered in a thick greyish-cream glaze suffused with a network of light brown crackles. The glaze pulls off at the rim to give a russet colour. The base is almost fully glazed and the four spur marks on the base reveal the dark stoneware body.
