The unusual blue-green Paraiba tourmaline was first discovered in the Brazilian state of Paraiba in 1989. Now the “neon-bright ” Paraiba tourmalines are one of the most sought-after gems in the world.
These gems had an unusual vivid blue-green that had never been seen before in any gemstone. Paraiba tourmalines typically have “neon” colors that are brighter than we find in tourmalines without copper. They appeared to glow with a neon or electric-like quality, even in the rough stone. Analysis showed that this unique effect was due to the presence of copper and manganese.
This lot is one of the rarest. The diamond necklace is designed by Cartier. The 27.20 carats heart-shaped Mozambique Paraiba tourmaline has vivid color, distinctive texture, which is an extremely rare and precious treasure without doubts.
