Liang Ying studied painting with her father Huang Zhou when she was young. After studying at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts in Germany, she jumped out of her father’s influence and created works with great authenticity and interest in life by means of New Expressionism. A Golden Lion Costume originated from Liang Ying’s watching the traditional Chinese Lion Dance on TV. She felt that the seemingly powerful lion was just a controlled skin bag. The lion made of colored cloth is controlled by the doll, while the silk thread hanging from the doll is controlled by someone unknown outside the picture. In the painting, Liang Ying uses a vivid, naive color and free and casual style, presenting a kind of fun that can only be captured by the innocent eyes like a child who has never been in the world. The body of the puppet and the lion only leaves the hanging silk thread, but also leaves the suspense, which makes the picture more alert to the power of the individual Metaphor - no matter heroes, swordsmen or all living beings, the world has its own rules and power, in the face of the times, no one can decide their own destiny.
