The Cathedral Minute Repeater of Patek Philippe is a highly attractive yet subtle timepiece. Presented by Patek Philippe in 2002, model 5033P is the first combination of the annual calendar function and the minute repeater. The unique tonneau-shaped case matches with the elegant Roman numerals, and the two-toned dial is integrated into the perfect layout with apertures for the annual calendar. Combining with the small seconds at 6 o’clock, the entire dial is full of charm and dynamic, which additionally reveals the brilliance of this amazingly complicated wristwatch. The 27 PSQA self-winding movement is wound by a micro-rotor and is equipped with an extra-long gong for the minute repeater mechanism. The extra-long gong makes the sound more rich and sonorous, and thus the mechanism is being called as “Cathedral”. One of the most attractive elements of this watch is its simple and balanced design. The other mechanism that supports the annual calendar function is inserted into the front of the movement, while the gong and the 22K gold pendulum are placed at the most eye-catching center. As always, the movement is finely made, and the seal of Geneva is engraved as a proof of quality. Reference 5033P cleverly integrates the functions of the minute repeater and the annual calendar. Having a stunning appearance, this rare timepiece is the ultimate choice for advanced collection.
