Just like the diversity of the Mask series which brought success to Zeng Fanzhi, the topics of Zeng¡¯s paintings are varied. Zeng Fanzhi does not want to be regarded as the artist who can only paint the Mask; he wants his other paintings to be accepted. As one of the most internationally well-known contemporary artists of China, Zeng will definitely get another success. Zeng began to work on landscapes after 2004. He focused on painting the path and weed beside the path around the suburb area. These works sometimes are allegories when there are people appearing in the landscape, sometimes they are just pure landscape pictures without any people existing.
